Dearest Fergie,
Nothing gives me so much pleasure as Springtime; particularly in Winter. The leaks, the plum trees in blossom, the pollens. I am also looking forward to an increase in bridge tolls, everywhere, and, of course, digging in the garden to plant something, below which is a large unmovable slab of hidden concrete. It's a time of year when new possibilities for pretending it is almost that time of year of new possibilities is upon us, and I can hardly wait. There's just something about Now.
The only preparation I can suggest is noted on Mary Klee Frank's new (and limited edition) FingerPoster: ENTER THE MEDIUMS: The Following Episodes, with Witold Wolfe, Theodore F., and Eleanor Peplam. They come by way of contacts made long ago in Eastern Europe, (or were they Eating in Europe?) when most Empires were perspiring and beginning to restitch the hems of their continental shifts; the upshot being a spectacular coup for The Palace. These mediums earned their reputations long before they were asked to leave their respective countries, and we can only Thank God that they have not pooled their resources into unsavory enterprises out of spite or misguided malcontent.
